Power Inc., a San Francisco energy consulting firm. He serves
as Research Director for the SLO-RESCO project. Robert’s
interest in energy issues began at a young age with a
fascination about astronomy and science. After attending
Lake Forest College in Illinois, where he studied philosophy
and music, Robert moved to Arcosanti , an alternative living
community in Arizona. Here he studied arcology, the
concept of ecological human habitats, under the famous
architect Paolo Soleri. He is the proud father of two grown
children.
For the past decade Robert has worked for Local Power on
numerous energy projects in California, including:
 technical analysis of performance incentives for solar
photovoltaics for Sacramento Municipal Utility District
 design and economic modeling for clean energy
replacement of a fossil fuel power plant in Chula Vista
 helped develop and write San Francisco’s
Implementation Plan for Community Choice
Aggregation electricity purchases
 participation in regulatory proceedings at the California
Public Utilities Commission and other agencies
 co-authoring the Energy Element of the Sonoma County
Climate Action Plan
Robert is actively working to advance the concepts, models
and tools for developing local renewable energy systems.
